Aaliyah's Impact Legacy and What She Did For Music ! Chapter 1 Aaliyah And her Rivals

When Aaliyah Debuted in  May 1994 she was the first teen queen to emerge and then after we had Brandy, Monica, Britney ,Xtina Etc don't believe me just watch.!

Slant Magazine July 16th 2001:

Rolling Stone August 2nd 2001:way before her death on august 25th 2001

Billboard August 25 2011: Brandy speaks on Aaliyah

Every Time some one diss Aaliyah they Always bring brandy and Monica up

For example they will say : "Brandy And Monica were both bigger than Aaliyah" or "brandy and monica slayed Aaliyah"

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Granted brandy had a bigger platform than Aaliyah (does Moesha ring a bell) but she still wasn't "slaying Aaliyah" Both woman debuted in 1994 but lets just say Aaliyah was the "it" girl in 1994 Don't believe me just watch!

Aaliyah Debuted on May 24th 1994 and lets just say that was the beginning to an iconic industry figure.
with good reviews from the critics Age Aint nothing but a number debuted at number 24 and peaked at number 18 selling 74,000 copies in the first week it was led by the top 5 hit on the billboard 100 back and forth followed by back in forth Aaliyah released a cover to the Group the Isley Brothers classic  song at your best (you are love) which became a top 10 hit peaking at number 6 both back and forth and at your best was both certified gold by the RIAA. with two top 10 gold singles Aaliyah was on her way until she was hit with a hard hitting scandal (we wont go into all of that) around the time of the release of her 3rd single named after her debut album age aint nothing number a number was released to radio and as it was released to radio the scandal hit which caused the single to flop and peak at number 75 which caused the promotion /selling of the album to slow Down none the less AANBAN sold over 2 million copies in the u.s (multi-platinum status) but it went on the sale 6 million copies WORLDWIDE.

AANBAN Album review ( Entertainment Weekly)-
After Aaliyah debuted 4 months later another 15 year old by the name of brandy debuted with her debut self titled album "Brandy". Brandy debuted on September  27, 1994 to mixed reviews (lmaoo).Led by the top 10 single I want to be down (Aaliyah debuted with  a top 5 single) Brandy entered the US Billboard 200 at number 94, and peaked at number 20 in its fifth weekThe album was certified four-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold 2.12 million copies in the United States (it was certified 4x platinum for shipments not actual sales) As of 2010, the album has sold over 6 million copies worldwide (so where is this slaying that yall said brandy did).
.
Brandy Album Review (Entertainment Weekly)-
Last but not least to debut is one of the teen queens who didn't impact shit in the music world and her name is Monica. Monica debuted at the tender age of 14 in the summer of 1995 with her debut Miss thang, The Miss Thang album debuted and peaked at number thirty-six  on the U.S. Billboard 200 it was led by the top 3 hit don't take it personal (just one of them days) In the United States, Miss Thang sold more than 1.5 million copies and over 2 million World Wide certifications.  and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for more than three million store-shipped copies (again here is another artist who's label over shipped their albums) so again where is this slaying?

By the time of All of their musical era's Brandy Had a successful Tv Show Moesha with boosted her her career especially musically  Brandy has only outsold Aaliyah during one era when you compare one in a Million sales to Never say say never sales!!!!!!!!!! and monica has never outsold Aaliyah ever

One In A Million : When Aaliyah dropped One in a Million dropped one in a million the production was new fresh and different for it's time period !
One In a million has made rolling stones musical list! 100 greatest albums of the 90's it placed at number 90 to be exact... :( Neither of Brandy or Monica's Albums didn't even make the list lmaooo)

One In a Million Album review :People Magazine September 2 1996:

Never Say Never:  Never Say Never debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, the official albums chart in the United States, on June 16, 1998. Selling approximately 160,000 units in its first week of release, it opened to Norwood's biggest week sales yet and, as of 2015, still retains the largest first-week seller within her discographyIt was eventually certified quintuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for more than 5 million shipped units, including 4.4 million sold copies ,To date, the album remains Norwood's biggest-selling effort with worldwide sales in excess of 16 million copies.
